About the Bengal Breed
The Bengal cat breed is a relatively new hybrid originating in the 1970's in California. The breed has been developed over several generation through a selective program of cross breeding between the domestic cat and and the wild Asian Leopard Cat (Prionailurus Bengalensis). The result of the mix is a gentle and friendly temperament with the body structure and appearance of the wild ALC.
Bengals are a medium size cat, whose males are generally larger than the females. The face is typically marked with distinctive horizontal stripes, as are the legs and tail. The bodies are marked with spots or a marbled pattern. The spotted Bengals whose spots are larger and consist of two colours are often referred to as rosetted and they are particularly impressive. The base colour of the fur can be light brown, snow or silver.

The Bengals are a highly intelligent breed of cat who love human interaction. They have bags of energy and love to play endlessly, they get involved in everything that's going on in the house.
